Synopsis

Perhaps the best known of Terence Rattigan's plays, The Deep Blue Sea is currently enjoying something of a revival.

A powerful drama written and set in the 1950's it sees Hester Collyer, the wife of a High Vourt judge, leaving her respectable husband for Freddie, a former RAF spitfire pilot with a drink problem.

This is the story of her tempestuous affair and the breakdown of her marriage, which begins to emerge. Hester must confront her furture when she finds Freddie disappoints her hopes for their relationship.
