Synopsis

by Laura Lomas

An Ilkley Playhouse Senior Greenroom and National Theatre Connections production

Each year, ten new plays are commissioned by National Theatre Connections especially for teenagers. We are delighted to have been selected, as one of 250 participating companies nationwide, to produce this brand new play.

The cast will consist of 11 new people as well as a strong representation from our own Greenroom.

There is bound to be something to please everyone in a performance that includes dance routines, thought provoking monologues, bouncing balls, flowers, trains, tornados and butterflies!

A girl is locked in a room. A boy brings another boy flowers.

A girl has tied herself to a railing. A boy doesn’t know who he is. A girl worries about impending catastrophe. A woman jumps in front of a train. A boy’s heart falls out of his chest.

A butterfly has a broken wing.

Chaos is a symphony of dislocated and interconnected scenes. A series of characters searching for meaning in a complicated and unstable world. Bouncing through physics, the cosmos, love and violence, they find order in the disorder of each other.

Please come along to support our young actors. There will also be a further performance of CHAOS at The York Theatre Royal Studio on 12th May.
