Venue

In addition to our theatrical programme we are home to a variety of arts-related events including live music, comedy clubs, visiting theatre companies, writers’ groups, poetry evenings, vintage fairs and the Ilkley Literature Festival.  We have a range of fantastic spaces available for hire – from our wonderful performance space in the Wharfeside and the flexible Wildman Studio to our Greenroom café area with fully equipped kitchen including a serving hatch and our comfortable Sheridan Suite with beautiful views across to the River Wharfe.

Wharfeside Theatre

Our premiere stage, the Wharfeside Theatre, is a 145-seat auditorium, fully equipped with sound and lighting systems, a digital projector and screen, hearing loop system, wheelchair access and spacious dressing rooms.  It is suitable for film launches and screenings, presentations, performances, concerts, gigs, large meetings and conferences.  

Wildman Studio

The Wildman Studio offers a flexible space that, depending on the performance space, can accommodate an audience of up to 140 with level seating, 80 – 100 with cabaret-style tables and chairs, and 80-tiered seating.

The Wildman is fully equipped with a versatile sound and lighting system plus hearing loop and has full wheelchair access.  It is the ideal choice for touring theatre companies, fringe theatre, gigs, concerts, dance and drama groups, poetry open mic nights, themed evenings, conferences, presentations, fairs, film screenings and private parties.

The Greenroom and Sheridan Suite

These comprise two versatile, bright and airy adjoining rooms with large windows looking out upon the River Wharfe and Middleton Woods. The spaces are equipped with café-style tables and chairs, soft seating and coffee tables which can be rearranged to accommodate events requiring open space.  Trestle tables are also available on request.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, directly accessible from the rooms which can be included in the hire.  

The spaces are popular daytime and evening choices for local groups, business meetings, presentations, private parties, yoga, meditation, poetry, drama and dance classes, as well as rehearsal spaces.

Bar

Our well-stocked bar is available for hire, subject to licensing terms. The bar area is a cosy space with comfortable seating and a friendly atmosphere.

All areas are accessible to access users.
