The Wind in the Willows is the tale of four friends: Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad, whose adventures on the riverbank and roads of the Thames Valley have delighted children of all ages since it was first published in 1908. With a wonderful supporting cast of characters including a lugubrious horse, a sporty otter, and a gang of wide-boy weasels, this is the perfect family treat for Christmas.
Alan Bennett's adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's novel premiered in 1990 and has become a classic in its own right. Bennett manages to make the tale both nostalgic and current at the same time, and slips in enough gags for the adults to keep them as entertained as the younger members of the audience.
