Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Update

November 2020:

Our building, (including the Box Office), is currently closed to the public.

For any queries please email us on or leave a message on 01943 609539 -  we have a skeleton staff working reduced hours but we will try and get back to you as soon as possible.

BOX OFFICE POLICY: Covid-19 update November 2020.

Tickets must be purchased in advance of the performance, preferably online.

Please contact us at with a daytime contact telephone number or leave a message on 01943 609539 if you are unable to do this. Our staff are currently working reduced hours but we will get back to you as soon as we  possibly can.

A name and telephone number for one member of the party will be required at the time of booking for the purposes of NHS Test and Trace. A QR code for checking in will also be displayed throughout the building.

A confirmation email, (either displayed on a phone or printed out), will be required as proof of entry to an event. Tickets will not currently be available to collect from the Box Office and can only be purchased in advance.

In line with the most recent Government restrictions, face coverings must be worn for indoor events - they can be removed whilst having a drink - and are recommended for outdoor ones.

A group booking must only consist of members of the same household or support bubble and be up to a maximum of six people. The auditorium capacity will be reduced to ensure socially distanced seating.

If an event can no longer proceed due to the latest Government Covid-19 restrictions, Patrons will be offered a full refund.

If a Patron or members of their household group are unable to attend an event because they are required to self-isolate, they will be offered a Credit Note to redeem against a future performance.

Access: we presently only have performances for sale in the Wildman Studio, except for A Yorkshire Nativity which will be held outdoors. The Wildman is street level but please contact the Box Office at if  you have any special requirements or need to book a wheelchair space.

Please do not attend an event if you are feeling at all unwell - contact the Box Office so we can arrange an exchange or credit note for you instead.

Following official government advice which stipulates that people should avoid public buildings, including theatres, we regret to announce that we will be closed to the public from Saturday 21st March until further notice.  We will review this on an ongoing basis and keep you informed.

We hope to reschedule some postponed events and productions when circumstances permit.  If you have tickets booked, we will contact you directly as soon as possible.  We are a small admin team, so we ask for your patience as we deal with many cancellations.

As we are a registered charity, we will be working hard to safeguard funds.  This is an unprecedented time for our venue.  In line with other venues we are asking patrons to consider supporting the charity by donating any refunds back to the Playhouse to help get us back on our feet when all this is over – this would be gratefully received.

For all our latest information please check our website, as well as Facebook.

Thank you for your continued support and loyalty as we work together through this challenging time.

Best wishes,

Ilkley Playhouse
