Synopsis

Join us for an unforgettable night celebrating all that is Blues Music guaranteed to have you handclapping and toe-tapping along. Not one, not two but three acts showcasing Blues Music, covering the greats of the era and originally penned Yorkshire blues by incredibly talented local artists. The night is the first of many in partnership between Ilkley Live and Ilkley Playhouse. A fantastic night to be had in support of Ilkley Live, a local charity dedicated to supporting cohesion in the community and promoting live music in the area.

Blue Pig Boogie Band

Serving up hot, greasy, fat toned ‘West Coast’ and ‘Chicago’ style blues. The band is named after the Blue Pig up in Hardcastle Craggs and is made up of Dave Cooper on guitar, Jerome Dineen on double bass, Tim Gilroy on drums and Dave Hyde on vocals and harmonica. Steel Knees Bertie

A local legend on the musician’s circuit, playing original blues straight from North Yorkshire talking about love, life and politics with passionate and heartfelt lyrics. A songwriter since the age of sixteen with a wealth of life experience that is delivered by the medium of music, with songs such as New Vigilante Man, Honey Bee and Devils Work. Bertie has been performing live since the late 1970’s delighting audiences with his musical story telling.

Ben “Blue” Waters

An acoustic slide guitarist playing foot stomping raw blues from 1920’s to the present day. Covering songs by the greats such as Howling Wolf, Son Hours, John Lee Hooker, Captain Beefheart and many more plus original compositions. Ben has been on the musician’s circuit since the late 1970’s and plays regularly in the North of England and beyond. An artist not to be missed.
