The Guiseley Brothers and the ‘Voices of Yorkshire’ choir appear together in the Wildman Studio to provide an uplifting evening of music.

This is a fundraising event to support two worthwhile children’s charities - Martin House Hospice and Clockhouse. The link to both of these is through Joanne Slaven, late wife of Guiseley Brothers drummer and member of Ilkley Playhouse, Colin Waterman.

Joanne died from a brain tumour in 2016. She spent the latter part of her Social Work career managing Clockhouse in Keighley - a respite facility for children with complex health and disabilities. Some of these children and their families also received end of life care from Martin House near Wetherby.

The Guiseley Brothers are a four piece band playing semi acoustic versions of classic songs from Prince to Squeeze - Stevie Wonder to Carole King and everything in between.

Hailing from West Yorks, they are seasoned session musicians appearing on albums and EPs by Corinne Bailey Rae, Curtis T John, Michael Bolton, Natalie Anderson and many more. As well as studio work the band continue to play festivals, corporate functions and club venues. (photo of Guiseley Brothers by Dave Croft Photography)

The ’Voices of Yorkshire’ choir comprise over 350 members from all walks of life ranging from age 15 – 89 years.  Founded in January 2018 by Nick Ingram (formerly of the pop band ‘The Yeah You’s’) they have played venues large and small typically supporting charities like Manorlands Hospice and Candlelighters.

With groups in Bingley, Skipton, Silsden and Oakworth they produce a powerful vocal sound that both moves and entertains. Whilst just a small part of the membership will be appearing in this show, be prepared for a wonderful performance.

Come along and let the power of music move and entertain you whilst knowing that you are raising funds for 2 excellent causes.
