Synopsis
by Noël Coward
Directed by Steve Mason
This amateur production of Private Lives is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
“I think very few people are completely normal really, deep down in their private lives”.
This classic comedy tells the story of Amanda and Elyot. It has been 5 years since their disastrous marriage and divorce. Now both of them are honeymooning with their new spouses when the couples have the misfortune to find themselves in adjoining suites of their luxury French hotel.
The spark between Amanda and Elyot blazes back into life. They cannot live without each other. But the question is: can they live with each other?
Written by Noël Coward, and probably his biggest hit, he himself took the role of Elyot in the first production and wrote the song Someday I’ll Find You especially to feature in the play.
Filled with zinging one-liners, this play will give you an evening which is fun, intriguing, and just a tiny bit provocative – which is perhaps why it feels so modern!
